Prithviraj Sukumaran introduced the character of ‘Vilayat Buddha

‘Vilayat Buddha’ is Prithviraj’s film which has grabbed the audience’s attention since its announcement. Prithviraj had joined the film which started a few days ago. Now the actor has introduced his character in the film. It is reported that Prithviraj is playing the role of a sandalwood thief named ‘Double Mohanan’.

Jayan Nambiar, who has worked as an associate director in Malayalam cinema for many years, is the first film to be an independent director. This is the film that Sachi was to direct after the film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’. Actress Priyamvada Krishnan plays the heroine. Cinematography by Arvind Kashyap also stars Anumohan, Kottayam Ramesh, and Rajashree Nair in lead roles.

Vilayat Buddha is a thriller movie. The story of the film is told through the backdrop of the sandalwood groves of Marayur, a hub of sandalwood trees. GR Indugopan’s short novel ‘Vilayat Buddha’ is being made into a film of the same name.

Jomon T John is on board as the cinematographer and Mahesh Narayanan editor. Vilayat Buddha revolves around two characters, an older man named Bhaskaran Master, and his protege, a smuggler named Double Mohanan. The central conflict revolves around two men trying to claim ownership of a sandalwood tree planted by the former. Prithviraj will play the latter. The makers are on the lookout for an actor to play Bhaskaran Master.

Jayan has previously worked with Sachy in Anarkali and Ayyappanum Koshiyum aside from Prithviraj’s assistant director in Lucifer. He was also supposed to helm another script of Sachy, starring Prithviraj, but opted to make Vilayath Buddha his directorial debut.
