Ponniyin Selvan’s streaming rights purchased by Amazon Prime Video.

One of the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2022 is Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam. On September 30, the first film of the two-feature series will be officially released. According to rumors, Amazon Prime Video paid a hefty sum for the digital streaming rights of Ponniyin Selvan (parts 1 and 2). The second part is expected to hit the theatres in a few months.

Recently, the trailer and audio launch of Ponniyin Selvan took place at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were the special guests at the launch. Fans are now impatiently anticipating the release of Ponniyin Selvan in theaters. According to reports, the digital streaming rights of Ponniyin Selvan have been sold for a mammoth sum of Rs 125 crore. This is really important for a film that has been constructed on a massive budget. Similar to this, Sun TV paid a hefty price to acquire satellite rights. The audio and trailer launch will be aired on the channel a week before the grand release.

The film is directed by ace director Mani Ratnam. Ponniyin Selvan is based on a literary novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and Karthi will be seen in lead roles. The film also features Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram, and Lal in supporting roles. The film has music scored by AR Rahman. Also, Tips Music had paid a staggering Rs 25 crore for the audio rights to Ponniyin Selvan.
