Publication Boys film industry gathering day 3: This Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade starrer indicated great development throughout the end of the week, yet the aggregate accumulation of its three days stays on the lower side. The film should keep up the pattern on weekdays as well.
‘Poster Boys’ has not exactly been a success story so far, but it has shown a considerable and hopeful growth at the box office. After opening at Rs 1.75 crore, the film picked up on Saturday with earnings of Rs 2.40 crore. On Sunday too, the film showed some upswing and made a collection of Rs 3.10 crore, taking the total weekend figures of this Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade starrer to Rs 7.25 crore. The film also marks the debut of Shreyas as a director in Bollywood.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a series of tweets about the box office trends of the film. He first posted, “#PosterBoys showed good growth over the weekend, but the weekend total remains on the lower side… #PB.” Taran added with his next tweet, “#PosterBoys will have to maintain the trend on weekdays, or remain on Fri levels, to post a decent Week 1 total
Although ‘Poster Boys’ has picked up a little on Saturday and it will almost certainly do well on Sunday, its collections are bound to go down on weekdays. With its earnings already so low, it would be a huge loss to distributors. Only thing that can vivify the earnings of this film is strong word of mouth promotion which will help lure in moviegoers and bump up the faltering numbers.
