Nagarjuna‘s Bangarraju is doing an amazing start at the box office. Bangarraju is backed by Nagarjuna himself under his banner Annapurna Studios in association with Zee Studios. Reportedly Zee Studios has also bagged the post-theatrical digital rights of the film and it will be premiered on the homegrown streaming platform Zee 5 after 2 weeks of its theatrical release. As a rule, ZEE5 debuts Telugu films half a month post-dramatic release. In any case, that probably won’t be the situation with Bangarraju. We are hearing that ZEE5 plans to make Bangarraju accessible for streaming any time after the Republic Day – 26 Jan. With theaters running with50 % occupancy and the footfalls at theaters prone to go down taking into account Covid, an early OTT release is particularly on cards. Bangarraju is a sequel to the 2016 commercial success Soggade Chinni Nayana, the former and latter both are helmed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala. Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ramya Krishna are reprising their roles from the last film as Bangarraju and Satyabhama, Whereas Naga Chaitanya plays Chinna Bangarraju and Uppena fame Kriti Shetty plays Naga Lakshmi as the main lead role. The screenplay is written by Satyanand and the director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala wrote the story, on the technical parts J Yuvaraj cranked the camera, and the editing has been done by Vijay Vardhan K, Anup Rubens is the music composer.
