Tovino Thomas’s Neelavelicham with director Aashiq Abu goes on the floor

Tovino Thomas is collaborating with Aashiq Abu again for an awfulness thriller named Neelavelicham. The forthcoming film is a transformation of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s brief tale Neelavelicham. Yesterday, the film went on floors in presence of lead actors Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal, one more cast, and a team. The group launched the shoot in Pinarayi, Kannur on Monday.

Tovino Thomas took to his online social media and shared a group photograph from the puja function. In the pic, Tovino Thomas is seen decked up in a white shirt and dhoti, decorated with colored glasses, while Rima Kallingal wore a grayish kurta set. Sharing the pics, he composed, ‘Neelavelicham’.

The film was initially declared with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kunchacko Boban, and Soubin Shahir as the lead entertainers yet because of the Covid pandemic and date issues, they quit. Tovino Thomas, Roshan Mathew, and Shine Tom Chacko have replaced them individually. Girish Gangadharan has replaced Shyju Khalid as the cinematographer and the music part will be taken care of together by Bijibal and Rex Vijayan.

Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s brief tale Neelavelicham was adapted on screen before in 1964. After nearly six decades later the same short story is getting a silver screen adaptation, so the expectations are high because of the star director and the talented actors.

Tovino Thomas is likewise waiting for the release of Vishnu G Raghav’s executive court dramatization Vaashi with National Award-winning actress, Keerthy Suresh. The makers have not yet announced the release date. Tovino Thomas was last seen in Minnal Murali.
