A follow-up to the Mohanlal-starring film Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has been officially confirmed. The film’s creators revealed on Wednesday that pre-production had begun. We now know in-depth that L2: Empuraan is a high-budget sequel. Yes, Mohanlal, Prithviraj is spending a huge Rs 400 crore on the production of Lucifer 2 Empuraan.

“The sequel’s script has been finished writing. The sequel’s director, Prithviraj, makes sure to go all out with this picture. It will be a fully complete commercial entertainment piece, but not on an Indian or even a global scale. Like Project K, which Prabhas recently released, Prithviraj wants L2 to be a global hit. The team’s confidence has increased as a result of Part 1’s success “reveals a source close to the production of the film. After Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan in 2016, the first portion of Lucifer became the second Malayalam film to earn over Rs 200 crore at the box office.

The source adds, “L2: Empuraan’s star cast and other information will be announced soon.” The third endeavor for Mohanlal and Sukumaran is L2: called Empuraan. They last appeared together in the 2021 film Bro Daddy. Murali Gopy, who wrote the script for Lucifer’s first part, also wrote the script for the Antony Perumbavoor-produced television series Empuraan.

In similar news, GodFather, a Telugu remake of Lucifer, is in production. Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and Satya Dev play the film’s three main characters, and Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films are the producers. Salman Khan makes his Telugu debut in it as well, and he has a lengthy cameo.
