Malayalam director Liju Krishna, who is right now making a film named Padavettu, has been arrested by police under alleged rape charges put by a crew in Kerala’s Kannur area on Sunday. The objection was recorded by a young lady, who has been a part of the team of Liju’s film.

Liju Krishna has been captured under Section 376 IPC. As per reports the director will be brought to the court in Kochi on Monday.

His impending film Padavettu stars Nivin Pauly and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. The movie is produced by Sunny Wayne. The film is said to release in the theaters soon. Promoted to be a political show, Aditi Balan is the main female lead, and actors Shine Tom Chacko and Shammy Thilakan are having important roles. 96′ fame Govind Vasantha is a music writer.

Mr. Krishna was shooting Padavettu in Kannur, his hometown when he was arrested. The shoot of the film was going on in his old neighborhood Kannur. The shoot has now been ended because of the capture of Liju. The producers are yet to give any official explanation regarding this situation. The makers are reportedly waiting for the court hearing to respond to the following issue.

Another case, a Kochi-based popular tattoo artist Sujeesh PS was also arrested by the Kerala Police on Sunday over allegations of rape, sexual assault, and molestation. A case was filed against him based on complaints by at least 6 females, all of whom were his former clients. He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
