Actor Kochu Preman (68) passed away. He died at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. He is best known for his comedy roles. For the past few days, he was facing difficulties due to respiratory disease. He died today while being taken to the hospital due to physical discomfort.

He wrote and directed a play for the first time when he was studying in the 8th standard. After its success, he composed a second play called Ushnarasi. The dramas were telecasted by Aakashvani’s program Ithal.

He entered cinema through drama. 7 Colors are his first movie. He became active in Malayalam cinema with the movie Dilliwala Rajakumaran released in 1996. He was born on June 1, 1955, as the son of Sivarama Shastri and Kamalath in Payat village of Thiruvananthapuram district.

 His wife is Girija who is also an actress. Harikrishnan is the son. The character in the 2016 film Leela received a lot of criticism. Apart from movies, he also acted in tele-serials.
