Mohanlal has a cameo role in Rajinikanth’s Jailer

Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar, will make a cameo appearance in Rajinikanth’s Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. While there has been social media buzz about his involvement in the project for the past two days, the production house behind the film has finally confirmed it by sharing a photo of Mohanlal on set on their social media handle. “Lalettan @mohanlal from the sets of #Jailer,” they wrote on Twitter.

In the poster, we can see Mohanlal wearing a leopard print shirt and trousers and sporting long hair. It looks like he will appear in the flashback portion of the film. An official confirmation on the role of the Mollywood star is still awaited.

Mohanlal began filming for his part on Sunday in Hyderabad and will continue on Monday. Meanwhile, Rajnikanth left Chennai on Saturday for Hyderabad for the current schedule of Jailer, his 169th film. While Mohanlal previously appeared alongside Kamal Haasan in the 2009 thriller Unnaipol Oruvan, this will be his first appearance alongside Rajinikanth.

Nelson Dilipkumar wrote and directed the action comedy Jailer. Shivarajkumar, a Kannada superstar, also plays an important role in the film. The film stars Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. According to reports, Jailer will be released in theatres in the summer of 2023. The film began filming earlier this year and, according to reports, 70% of it is finished.

The technical team includes composer Anirudh Ravichander, editor R Nirmal, and cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan. The film’s production is expected to be completed in a few weeks.
