Mohanlal Changed ‘Barroz’ Movie Script

Barroz Movie mohanlal’s directorial debut. The script of the film, which is being prepared as a fantasy film, is written by Jijo Punnoos. Jijo Punnoos has openly said that Mohanlal has changed the script of the film. He said through his blog that Mohanlal changed the script along with TK Rajeev Kumar to satisfy his fans like Odiyan, Pulimurukan, and Marakar.

There are changes in the picture after the covid period. He also stated that there were moves to leave Barroz. The blog says that producer Anthony Perumbavoor’s focus was on OTT films and many of the sets made at Navodaya Studio were told to be demolished.

Jijo Punnoos is planning to do a film with Mohanlal in 2019. Jijo Punnoos is preparing the story with a girl as the main character. According to the suggestions of Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor, Jijo said that although he made many changes in the script, he remained firm on the decision of making the girl the lead character. Mohanlal’s role as Burrows was second. Mohanlal accepted this decision and started the production of the film. The second wave of covid is taking hold after all the production-related activities of the film have been completed and the shooting has started.

But after this, the producer turned his attention to OTT films. He said that Anthony Perumbavoor had said about demolishing the set prepared for the film. But Mohanlal took the initiative and decided to start Barroz again. For this, the story, screenplay, and actors were changed. There was no possibility of bringing artists back from abroad or going to nearby places of Goa for location shooting. The producer decided to use a four-month date before giving Mohanlal’s next call sheets to other projects.

Mohanlal along with Rajeev Kumar rewrote all the scenes, characters, and locations in the script for the major shootings taking place in and around Kochi. The shooting was mostly inside the Navodaya campus. He remarked that he felt it was a wise decision to save the film.

Lalumon, in the process of re-writing, tweaked the script and Barroz’s character to satisfy his fan base, just like his recent hits Odiyan, Pulimurugan, Lucifer, and Marakaar. The script was changed with the intention of entertaining the Malayalee family movie audience. Jijo Punnoos notes that Lalumon can do it with the knowledge of 350 films he has knowledge of just 7 films. Mohanlal sought his help only to film a scene where the character Barroz opens the treasure chamber. Jijo Punnoos clarifies that his participation in the new film is the only one.
