Mari Selvaraj, the acclaimed director known for his politically charged and cinematic films like “Pariyerum Perumal” and “Karnan,” is now directing a new film titled “Mamannan.” The release of the film’s trailer has heightened audience expectations, especially due to Selvaraj’s reputation for addressing political issues in his work and delivering excellent cinematic experiences. The initial glimpses of “Mamannan” featuring Udayanidhi Stalin wielding a sword and Vadivelu in Kalip mode have already generated significant buzz. Following Kamal Haasan’s “Vikram,” “Mamannan” is another Tamil film that stars Fahadh Faasil, further increasing the anticipation surrounding the project.

The audio release of “Mamannan” took place on June 1 at Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The first song from the film, titled “Rasa Kann,” was released earlier and gained immense popularity. It was sung by actor Vadivelu, who also performed the song live during the audio launch event. Notably, Kamal Haasan was present at the event and was seen shedding tears after listening to the song, as captured in a viral video. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead opposite Udayanidhi Stalin in the film. It is reported that “Mamannan” will be Udayanidhi’s final film before fully transitioning into politics. The cinematography for the movie is handled by Theni Eshwar. Following the critical and commercial success of “Pariyerum Perumal” and “Karnan,” “Mamannan” marks yet another highly anticipated film directed by Mari Selvaraj.
