Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan lands in trouble after the teaser launch

Mani-Ratnam-Vikram

One of the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2022 is Ponniyin Selvan by Mani Ratnam. A new issue has emerged as the movie’s teaser is trending on social media. Mani Ratnam and Chiyaan Vikram have been sent with a court summons for allegedly misrepresenting the Cholas. Ponniyin Selvan, which is based on the same-named movie, charts the development of the Chola dynasty. Five languages will be used for the film’s release across all of India.

Ponniyin Selvan has run into more difficult days after the teaser’s release. A lawyer named Selvam sent a court summons to Mani Ratnam and Chiyaan Vikram. In his petition, he made note of Vikram’s (who plays Aditya Karikalan) lack of a tilak on his forehead. However, a tilak can be seen on Vikram’s Ponniyin Selvan poster. Selvam believes that the movie can give a false impression about the Cholas. In order to determine whether the filmmakers had changed historical facts in the movie, he demanded a special screening of the movie before it was released.

As of right now, neither the director Mani Ratnam nor Chiyaan Vikram has responded to the notice. Ponniyin Selvan, as previously stated, will be released in two parts. A major release of the first section is planned for September 30. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi play the key parts in the star-studded ensemble. There will be significant roles for Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The music was scored by AR Rahman.
