According to rumours, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan-1’s trailer and audio release would most likely happen on September 6 in Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. While we wait for the producers to officially confirm, a source near the project said that the rumours are accurate. According to rumours, the whole cast and crew will be there for the eagerly anticipated occasion. The teaser for Ponniyin Selvan-1 wasn’t released at the Thanjavur Big Temple, despite earlier rumours to the contrary.

Part one (PS-1) of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan will premiere on September 30. This was confirmed by Madras Talkies, the film’s production company. The movie Ponniyin Selvan, which Lyca Productions co-produced, stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram Prabhu, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram, Sobitha Dhulipala, Lal, Sarath Kumar, Riyaz Khan, and Ashwin Kakamanu.

Mani Ratnam will collaborate once more with legendary composer AR Rahman and director of photography Ravi Varman on the Ponniyin Selvan duology. Notably, Lyca Productions had tweeted that Tips Music had paid a staggering Rs 25 crore for the audio rights to Ponniyin Selvan. The Ponniyin Selvan-1 teaser was dropped on social media platforms on July 8 and it received a good response.

A trip documentary based on R Krishnamurthy’s masterpiece Ponniyin Selvan, Paraak Paraak, was just announced by the Kalki Group. It will debut on their YouTube channel on September 24. This trip documentary seems to be intended to educate viewers about historical events while also reaching out to those who do not read print media (books). The novel is reportedly set at Kattumannarkoil, the Kadambur palace, Kodumbalur, Kallanai, Kodiakarai, Thirukoilur, Mamallapuram, and Thakkolam, according to a reports.
