Following the success of the action film Beast, Thalapathy Vijay will next be next seen in a family drama, Varisu. The Tamil film has been in the news ever since it was announced. It was earlier rumored that the makers were looking for a Pongal 2023 release. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Finally, the film’s creators have confirmed its release date.
Yesterday on the occasion of Diwali on October 24, Sri Venkateswara Creations uncovered a new poster of Thalapathy Vijay from the film. In the image, the Tamil superstar is seen in an intense avatar as he holds a huge hammer in his right hand with goons lying on the floor in the background. Vijay rocked an all-black outfit in the Varisu poster. Along with releasing the poster, which read, “The Boss Returns,” the makers mentioned that the Vijay-starrer will release in theaters on January 12 2023.

Varisu will also be released in the Telugu language. It will be titled Vaarasudu in Telugu. It is said that the film will be dubbed and released in Hindi. The film is written by the director Vamshi Paidipally himself. The family drama stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The supporting cast of Varisu includes Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Shaam, and Jayasudha, to name a few.
Thaman S will compose the music of Varisu. The film’s cinematography is done by Karthik Palani while its editing has been handled by Praveen KL. Hari and Ashishor Solomon have co-written Varisu with director Vamshi Paidipally. The makers have already sold their streaming rights to the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
