According to rumors, renowned director Rajiv Menon is prepared to join the production of Vetri Maaran’s next movie Viduthalai. Although there hasn’t been a formal announcement, we’ve heard that the Sarvam Thaala Mayam director will play a significant part in the movie. The story of Viduthalai was inspired by a book written by author Jeyamohan.

A-list comedian Soori plays the lead in Viduthalai, and Vijay Sethupathi makes a lengthy cameo. Vijay Sethupathi, who is affectionately referred to as Vaathiyar, is reported to be like his instructor in the movie while Soori portrays a police constable. Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Kishore make up the supporting cast. According to the latest reports, Vijay Sethupathi’s son had joined the sets to essay the role of a tribal boy.

The movie, which will be split into two parts, is billed as a crime thriller. The majority of the second part’s scenes have also been cut while the shooting for the first part is complete. With the barest of amenities, the movie was filmed in Sathyamangalam’s deep jungles.

While the cinematographer for the film is Velraj, Ramar is in charge of the editing. Peter Hein has choreographed the action sequences and Jacki is handling the art direction. Though the portions were being dismissed at a brisk pace, the pandemic put a brake on the work.

Isaignani Ilaiayaraaja composed the music for the movie, and Viduthalai is the first time Vetri Maaran and Ilaiyaraaja have worked together. Eldred Kumar’s RS Infotainment is funding the movie, which will reportedly have a pan-Indian distribution with releases in several languages. Viduthalai is one of the most awaited films of Vetri Maaran, who is also working on Suriya’s Vaadi Vaasal.
