Cobra, the eagerly anticipated drama by Chiyaan Vikram will now have a new release date. The spooky thriller, which was originally scheduled to hit theatres on August 11 of this year, will now start playing on August 31. The project was reportedly pushed back due to a few technical issues. Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi are just a few of the languages in which this suspense thriller will be released.

Chiyaan Vikram, meantime, attended the grand audio launch of Cobra a few weeks ago, and despite being admitted to the hospital a few days ago due to some minor chest trouble, he looked as dapper as ever in semi-formal clothes. The actor had denied any such claims concerning his health during the occasion, despite some reports claiming that he had had a heart attack. Putting his hand on his chest, he mockingly said, “I put my hand on my chest without realizing it. Now they will call it a heart attack.”

Srinidhi Shetty will play the lead female opposite Chiyaan Vikram in the Ajay Gnanamuthu-directed film Cobra. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, will play the antagonist. With this movie, he will begin acting. Along with the rest, the much-discussed project also stars crucial roles from Miya, Mamukkoya, K.S. Ravikumar, Renuka, Babu Antony, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Robo Shankar, Kanika, Roshan Mathew, and Poovaiyar.

The music for Cobra was composed by Oscar-winning music composer A R Rahman, working with S. S. Lalit Kumar and 7 Screen Studio. The film’s editing was handled by Bhuvan Srinivasan, and Harish Kannan focused the camera.
