Karthi Explained Why Ponniyin Selvan 1 Was Not Successful Enough In North India

Mani Ratnam is the creator of Brahmanda films. The second part of Ponniyin Selvan, directed by him, is gearing up for release. What actor Karthi said about the first part of the film during a promotional event is now garnering attention. Karthi explained why Ponniyin Selvan 1 was not successful enough in North Indian regions. Karthi said that Ponniyin Selvan could not achieve the success he achieved among the North Indian audience by dubbing films like Pushpa.

He said that the audience there found it difficult to understand and enjoy the story of Ponniyin Selvan. Imagine reading a novel with many characters. Some characters’ names are forgotten after reading a few pages. That’s what happened to the North Indian audience in the case of Ponniyin Selvan 1. But things changed when the film hit OTT. They understood the story and the characters. All of us actors feel lucky to be a part of such a film.

My mother usually does not talk about the films I have acted in. But they were thrilled to see me as Vanthiyathevan. My mother has told me how much she enjoyed me as that character. Poniyin Selvan Part 2 is highly anticipated. Karti added. The second and final part of Ponniyin Selvan will hit the theaters on the 28th of this month. Aishwarya Rai, Chiyan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Trisha Krishnan are in the lead roles while Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Jayaram, Lal, and Kishore.
