As the sports film, ’83’ is good to go to release on the big screen on Thursday, previous Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev reviewed the feeling of lifting the World Cup in 1983, in a video shared by the creators. In the video, Kapil reviews his experience of winning the World Cup in 1983.
Kapil Dev was heard saying in Hindi: “India ke liye khelna ek sapna tha and a bigger dream was to become the Captain of the National team. And I had never imagined lifting the World Cup on the balcony of Lord’s!”

’83’ features India winning the 1983 World Cup under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, played by Ranveer Singh. Co-featuring Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa and R Badree, the film is good to go to release dramatically worldwide on December 23. The film is jointly produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment.
The film had a grand premiere in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A video from their Dubai diaries went viral. The couple could be seen watching the 83 trailers on Burj Khalifa. Director Kabir Khan, his wife Mini Mathur, and cricket legends Kapil Dev and Mohinder Amarnath were also clicked in Dubai
