While KGF 2 swept the globe, fans eagerly anticipate the premiere of Kabzaa, a period drama starring Upendra that is set against a background of crime and gangsters. The Kabzaa teaser was released on September 17, and the movie already looks like a massive spectacle with its sleek cinematography by AJ Shetty, Ravi Basrur’s soundtrack, and Shivakumar’s production design.
The OTT rights to Kabzaa have now reportedly been purchased by Amazon Prime Video for a very expensive amount, according to the most recent updates. The streaming service has reached an agreement with the film’s creators for the post-theatrical streaming rights. In the same vein, other online reports indicated that the value of this agreement may reach Rs. 140 crores. However, the Kabzaa producers have not yet confirmed or denied the rumor, so further information about this partnership should be revealed as soon as possible.
It appears that Amazon Prime Video is eager to capitalize on Kannada cinema after securing similar streaming rights to both K.G.F films (all languages) in the past. On October 7, Prime will debut the film Lucky Man, starring Darling Krishna, Puneeth Rajkumar, and Sangeetha Sringeri.
The movie Kabzaa is now under post-production, and its producers haven’t yet disclosed when it will be released in theatres. Kabzaa, which is billed as a legitimate pan-Indian release with numerous dubbed versions and stars Upendra, Shriya Saran, Kiccha Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Tamil actor Samuthirakani, and a host of other talented actors, is scheduled for release in December 2022, according to Upendra, who revealed this during a recent media interview. Kabzaa will probably be released in two parts, just like K.G.F., because of its lengthy plot that spans several decades.
