Lijo Jose Pellissery‘s Nanpankal Nerathu Mayakkam made it to the New York Times list. One of the New York Times’ five must-see movies of the month is Daydreaming. Zoe Whittock’s Jumbo, Anders Emblem’s A Human Position, Adam Sediak’s DomesticQ, and Mitch Jenkins’ The Show also make it to the list.
Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films brought Nankapal Nerathu Mayakum, first produced by Mammootty’s company, to the theatres. Cinematography by Theni Eshwar, the film received an outpouring of appreciation from the audience. Mammootty‘s portrayal of James, a Malayali, and Sundarthe, a Tamilian, won huge applause. The screenplay is written by Harish. Ramya Pandian, Ashokan, Kainakari Thangaraj, Suresh Babu, Chetan Jayalal, Ashwant Ashok Kumar, and Rajesh Sharma played other important roles. Apart from Malayalam, the film was also well-received in Tamil.
