Film Title Shifts From ‘India’ To ‘Bharat’ Akshay Kumar Defends The Move, Emphasizes No Malice In The Intent

Recently, there have been fervent discussions regarding changing the name of India to Bharat. As part of this movement, some movie titles have also undergone modifications. The most recent adjustment is in the title of the latest film ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue,’ starring Akshay Kumar. The title was altered a few days ago to ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.’ Akshay Kumar’s stance on this name change has garnered significant attention.Akshay Kumar firmly states that there is nothing amiss in changing the movie title to Bharat. He emphasized, “Is India a Misnomer? The name India is not wrong, it is absolutely correct. Bharat is a great name, so we changed the tagline of the film. This name is also in our constitution. So we were coming to this decision,” as conveyed by Akshay Kumar to a national media outlet.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, ‘Mission Raniganj’ made its theatrical debut yesterday. The film centers around the life of engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who spearheaded the mission to rescue 65 workers trapped in a coal mine. The script for the film was penned by Deepak Kingrani, and the film was produced with a budget of 55 crores. Notably, Akshay Kumar’s latest release prior to this was ‘O My God 2.’ The modification in the film’s title reflects an acknowledgment of the significant cultural transition and highlights the importance of the name ‘Bharat’ in the country’s identity.
