Darbar settlement delayed due to Indian 2 issue

While the distributors claim that the accident at the Indian 2 filming site has created a situation where the Darbar film cannot be compensated, the theater owners who are unable to even pay during the curfew have raised the battle flag to pay their deposit amount.Darbar-new-movie-song-relea
Some of the films released before the Corona curfew did not meet with the expected success and caused heavy losses to distributors and theater owners. In particular, the issue arose on the part of the distributors that the film Darbar, directed by Murugadoss and starring Rajinikanth, produced by Laica, was not as successful as expected. The issue was taken up with Uni and Laika agreed to pay appropriate compensation in the presence of Director T. Rajender.

The Durbar issue did not end with the distributors. It has also had a major impact on theaters. Usually, the film is published in two modes. Distributors publish images on a minimum guarantee and deposit basis. Theater owners often buy films starring big actors on a deposit basis in an attempt to compete.

but the distributors will pay the deposit amount made by the theater owners when the film embraces failure. But due to the huge losses incurred by the distributors in the Darbar film, the deposit amount due to the theaters has not been paid yet. Usually when a crisis situation like this comes up the distributors will deal with keeping the next distributor image. But the settlement for the theaters is yet to be finalized as a curfew has been declared due to the corona infection and no further films have been released.

Theater owners have been in dire straits due to non-receipt of money from distributors as it has been a challenge to pay the staff as the theaters have been closed for more than three months. When our Madurai Chief Correspondent Stalin spoke to the manager of a theater in Madurai about this, he lamented that “they have up to 20 lakh rupees left and the dealers do not even take the call if they call on their mobiles”. Guru, the manager of a Madurai theater, says it is even harder. The projector operator laments that this ordeal has been a difficult one for him, who has relied solely on theater for 40 years.
