Vijay uploaded the first look of the movie Annabelle Sethupathi on his Instagram and wrote: “Here it is. First look of Annabelle Sethupathi.”The “Haseen Dillruba” star also took to Twitter and shared the film’s release date announcement. “Annabelle Sethupathi” will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. “Coz sometimes one life is not enough to see it all. #AnnabelleSethupathi. Streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam from September 17 only on @DisneyPlusHS,” Pannu, 34, tweeted. It also features an ominous-looking palace.
The film has a period flashback portion in which Vijay Sethupathi plays a king. Radikaa, Yogi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Subbu Panchu, Devadarshini, Madhumitha, and Suresh Menon are playing pivotal characters in the film. The shooting of Annabelle Sethupathi was completed in Jaipur and Hyderabad, the film is a horror-comedy with a period flashback like Anushka’s Arundhathi.
The movie will have a direct OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. It will start streaming from September 17, 2021. The movie, which will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, has been titled ‘Annabelle Rathore’ in Hindi.
Written and directed by Deepak Sundarrajan the son of veteran director Sundarrajan, the film marks Pannu’s first collaboration with Sethupathi, known for critically-acclaimed movies like “Super Deluxe”, “Aandavan Kattalai”, “Master” and “Vikram Vedha”. In the first look, Vijay is seen dressed up in royal clothes, as Taapsee has a more British look. 
The horror comedy film, featuring both Pannu and Sethupathi is produced by Passion Studios, PC Sreeram’s associate Gautham Raj has cranked the camera, Vinod of Vikram Vedha fame is in charge of the production design, and newcomer Kishore is composing the music.
