The university said it was their most used scholarship with more than 800 applicants, so it was brought in with the help of the IFFM. The selection criteria are that the applicants should be female candidates, Indian citizens and have completed a Masters of Research degree within the past 10 years. Selected students will receive a four-year full research scholarship at La Trobe University.

Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “We all know SRK has a great heart and he has proved it once again. This scholarship is a game changer for Indian scholarships. India is full of talent and spark, you just need to ignite that spark. SRK’s association with IFFM has been around for a long time, but now that it’s on, it makes it even more special.

La Trobe University is one of the leading universities in Australia and the opportunity to study at this university has been on the wish list of many students. “The scholarship announcement was made during the 2019 IFFM Sports Events.
