Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar’s horror-thriller film Durgamati has been released on Amazon Prime Video. Apart from Bhoomi, stars like Arshad Warsi, Jishu Sengupta, Mahi Gill and Karan Kapadia have worked. All efforts have been made to make the film entertaining which proves to be useless.
Story The story of the
film Durgamati begins with Ishwar Prasad (Arshad Warsi). Ishwar Prasad is an honest leader and Minister of Water Resources. Old statues are being stolen from temples in his area, causing a lot of resentment among the people. In such a situation, Ishwar Prasad promises the people that he will bring back the idols within 15 days and if he does not, he will retire from politics.
Now by bringing back the idols, Ishwar Prasad does not make the hero among the public, so that the leader of the other party hatches a conspiracy against him. For this, CBI officer Shatakshi Ganguly (Mahi Gill) is hired. To find out about Ishwar Prasad, IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan (Bhumi Pednekar) is questioned, who has been the secretary of Ishwar Prasad and is serving a sentence in prison for the bloodshed. Now this prisoner is left to live in an old and deserted mansion. This is where the film begins with the real story of Durgamati. There are many horror scenes in the film which have been created unnecessarily. However, the film has many such twists, which are quite fun. To know what happens in its climax, you will have to watch the entire film.
land Pednekar is known for experimental roles, but this film did not spell his acting. The facial expressions and dialogues of the land do not match. Mahi Gill can be rightly called a work. The overacting of Jishu Sengupta is out of tolerance. Arshad Warsi has also done a fine job. Talking about Karan Kapadia, even if he is not in the film, it does not matter.
film Durgamati is directed by G. Ashok. Its scripts are very weak, so it is not possible to do anything amazing in its direction. A better script only serves to make the film better. The film has many flaws and the performance of the stars also disappoints. The political angle of the film is quite boring. Apart from this, many of the horror scenes of the film also look absurd.
