‘Thank God,’ starring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The movie’s producers released a beloved trailer a few weeks ago, and fans and well-wishers have been eagerly anticipating seeing it on October 24 when it will be released in theatres. Indra Kumar wrote and helmed this fantasy comedy. In the movie, the Rudra actor would portray Lord Chitragupt. Additionally, the movie’s song Manike is smashing all previous records.
In the middle of all this nationwide support and adoration, an unexpected problem has arisen: members of the Kayastha Samaj have complained about the movie Thank God in Rajasthan, claiming that it has offended their community’s religious sensibilities. The upcoming film Thank God’s producers have been accused of portraying the Hindu god Chitragupta in an inappropriate manner, according to a report from the Press Trust of India (PTI) on Friday night. According to the news agency, the complaint was made against actor Ajay Devgn, producer T-Series, and other parties.
“Led by senior social worker Chandrakant Saxena, the representatives of the community reached the Nihalganj police station in the city under the banner of the Sri Chitragupta Committee and filed the complaint. A memorandum will be handed over to the district collector,” national senior vice-president of Kayastha Mahasabha Sanjeev Srivastava said to PTI.
He claimed that the movie’s trailer depicts Lord Chitragupta in contemporary attire and surrounded by “half-naked women,” which the plaintiff believes to be inappropriate. According to Srivastava, this has damaged religious emotions and there is a plot afoot to undermine societal harmony. He demanded that the offensive scenes should be deleted.
All three of the main actors are currently busy touring different cities to promote “Thank God.”
