Aamir Khan reacts against “#BoycottLaalSinghChaddha”

Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha became the unwilling center of controversy after “#BoycottLaalSinghChaddha” started trending on Twitter. Recently, Aamir Khan, who co-produced and plays the title role in the movie, responded to the boycott movement against his movie. He told the news channel, “That Boycott Bollywood… Boycott Aamir Khan… BoycottLaal Singh Chaddha… I feel sad also because a lot of people who are saying this in their hearts believe I am someone who doesn’t like India… In their hearts they believe that… And that’s quite untrue.” The actor also said, “I really love the country… That’s how I am. It is rather unfortunate if some people feel that way.”

The boycott trend began after a section of the Internet dug out Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview discussion, where he said that his ex-filmmaker wife Kiran Rao had suggested they move countries because of “growing intolerance.” His comments had provoked nationwide protests.

Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, was remade in Hindi as Laal Singh Chaddha. Advait Chandan is the director of the Hindi version. Laal Singh Chaddha is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh, Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots co-stars, will appear along with him in Laal Singh Chaddha. Naga Chaitanya makes his Bollywood debut with it as well.

In Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks played a man who goes on to do great feats in his life. His sole aim is to be with Jenny, his childhood sweetheart, nevertheless. Raksha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L. Rai, will compete at the box office with Laal Singh Chaddha. Both the movies will release on Aug 11.
