Malayalam’s favorite director Basil Joseph is in the limelight at international awards. Basil has been selected as the best director at the Asian Academy Awards held in Singapore. Basil has been recognized for directing the film Minnal Murali starring Tovino Thomas. Minnal Murali and Basil have achieved this feat in films in 16 countries.
“I am extremely happy and honored to be announced as the Best Director at the 2022 Asian Academy Awards. I am very proud to be a part of the Malayalam film industry and to represent India on this platform.” Basil wrote on Twitter. Basil himself shared the news of the acceptance through social media. Minnal Murali has the title of being the first superhero film in Malayalam. From the time of its announcement, the film has been getting a lot of attention across India. The film has already received many approvals. The film also shone at the 4th IWM Digital Awards. The film won the award for Best Digital Film in Local Language and Best VFX. The film was also shortlisted for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The film also won the Saima Awards.
