The long-awaited trailer for Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu has finally arrived. Thunivu is, as expected, a heist thriller in which Ajith plays a bank robber. In the trailer, he holds a bank hostage and demands a large sum of money. In contrast to his previous roles, Ajith plays a grey character in the film. However, his demeanor will remind fans of his Mankatha character Vinayak Mahadevan (2011). The interesting trailer was revealed on the official YouTube channel of Zee Studios and the social media handles of the team members, on January 31, Saturday at 7 PM.
Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth Kumar, also stars Manju Warrier, John Kokken, and Samuthirakani. The character posters of the cast were recently revealed by the makers. The film is Vinoth and Ajith’s third collaboration and based on the trailer, it appears that the director has saved his best for Thunivu. Ghibran composed the music for the film, and so far, the songs “Chilla Chilla” and “Kasethan Kadavulada” have become chartbusters.

Valimai, Ajith, and Vinoth’s previous project, underperformed at the box office and failed to impress both audiences and critics. While the previous project was made for Ajith’s audience, the director stated in an interview that Thunivu would be a different film with Ajith playing a unique role.
The film will be released in theaters on January 12. Thunivu will face Vijay’s Varisu ahead of Pongal 2023. This will be one of Kollywood’s biggest box office clashes in a long time. Following the release of Thunivu, Ajith is expected to collaborate on a film with Vignesh Shivan. The project, however, has yet to be officially announced.
