Ajith Kumar’s AK62 to commence the shoot in February

Vignesh Shivan will soon be directing Ajith Kumar’s ‘AK62,’ which will begin production soon. With Ajith’s film ‘Thunivu,’ directed by H Vinoth, finally hitting theatres for Pongal, the latest news is that Ajith’s film with Vignesh Shivan is set to begin production soon. While pre-production work on the film has been ongoing for some time, the film’s shooting is expected to begin in Mumbai during the first week of February.

The film’s production is scheduled to last 35-40 days. While Trisha is rumored to be joining the cast, we previously reported that actor Arvind Swami will play the antagonist in Ajith’s ‘AK 62’. Santhanam, a popular comedian turned hero, is also part of the movie. Anirudh, who has previously composed music for the actor, such as ‘Aaluma Doluma’ and ‘Surviva,’ will compose the music for the film. A popular OTT platform has acquired the film’s digital rights, which were produced by Lyca Productions. The OTT rights of the film are bagged by streaming giant Netflix.

The director’s most recent project was the romantic comedy film Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha and grossed around 70 crores at the box office.

Meanwhile, Ajith’s first film of 2023, the heist-thriller Thunivu, directed by H. Vinoth, has grossed 125 crores, making it the second highest-grossing film of the year. Manju Warrier plays Kanmani, Samuthirakani plays Dayalan, Ajay plays Ramachandran, GM Sundar plays Muthazhagan, Veera plays Radha, John Kokken plays Krish, Bhagavathi Perumal plays Rajesh, and Prem Kumar plays Prem. Thunivu is currently streaming in theaters.
