Actor Salim Kumar says political correctness does not produce good laughs. The actor has shared his own texts published in Manorama on social media. National award winner Salim Kumar says that directors are in confusion as they don’t know how to make people laugh under political correctness. To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a good laugh film. In the past, there used to be at least one laughter once a month. Society is not laughing today. Under this political correctness, the directors are confused and don’t know how to make people laugh. No caste criticism, no religion criticism, no political criticism.

Then how can there be laughter  Salim Kumar asks. At the same time, Salim Kumar’s statement has started a big debate in film circles. A section argues that Salim Kumar’s problem is that he cannot enjoy comedies these days. A section asks if the actor does not see comedies coming in YouTube series etc. that capture the present generation rather than today’s cinema.
