Rishab Shetty’s Kantara break the record at the box office

Kantara-3

Kantara’s stunning box office gains continue as the film brought in Rs. 8 crores on its fifth Friday, bringing its total to almost Rs. 217 crores. The movie’s fifth Friday, which surpasses its fourth Friday’s earnings of Rs. 7.30 crores, is the largest Friday of its run. Since its release, the movie’s Friday box office receipts have increased.

While the third increase resulted from increased collections from the dubbed versions, the first two increases were merely the result of advances gained in Karnataka. The expansion of dubbed versions, which all included fresh screens and caused collections to soar from last week by 25%, is what is driving this week’s surge. Despite the release of Puneeth Rajkumar’s final postmortem release, Gandhada Gudi, which also had a strong opening yesterday, Karnataka itself held up very well, declining barely 10% from the previous week.
The movie’s weekend earnings will also rise; they might reach approximately Rs. 35 crore, up from Rs. 31.30 crore in the fourth weekend and Rs. 38 crore on the third weekend. By Sunday, the movie will have raked in roughly Rs. 245 crores, making the goal of Rs. 300 crores attainable.

Kantara at the Indian box office

Week Two – Rs. 37.25 crores
Week Three – Rs. 75 crores
Week Four – Rs. 70 crores

Kantara has surpassed Baahubali 2 to become the second-highest-grossing movie in Karnataka history, just behind KGF Chapter 2. KGF 2 used to seem too far away to aim for, but Kantara now has a very real chance of surpassing it. Even if it falls short somewhat, it is guaranteed to surpass KGF 2’s Kannada version figures in the state.
