Varisu saw a significant increase in collections on Saturday due to a significant increase in already released markets and the release of the Telugu dubbed version. This resulted in nearly doubling Friday’s collections, with approximately Rs. 23.50 crores collected on Saturday. With Varisu now available in Telugu and Hindi, and the lead established in Tamil Nadu, it is no longer a competition, at least on an all-India basis, as daily collections are nearly double those of Thunivu. Varisu’s four-day total box office collection in India is close to Rs. 78 crores. Today, the Vijay-starrer will cross the Rs. 100 crore mark in India. It did cross the same worldwide yesterday, with the overseas business nearing $6.50 million.

Varisu, which had been experiencing a downward trend in Tamil Nadu for two days, saw an increase in collection yesterday, grossing more than Rs. 12 crores. In just four days, the film has surpassed the Rs.50 crore mark in Tamil Nadu. The film had capacity issues on the first day because most theatres did not have larger capacity screens. In many centres, the situation was reversed yesterday, and it is now comfortably ahead of Thunivu in daily collections in Tamil Nadu. Saturday also marked the start of the holiday season, which will last until Tuesday, with a few extra days thrown in for good measure. The film’s collection in the state is expected to be in the double digits over its first seven days around Rs. 85 crores.

The box office collections of Varisu at the Indian box office are as follows:

Wednesday – Rs. 30 crores
Thursday – Rs. 12 crores
Friday – Rs. 12.25 crores
Saturday – Rs. 23.50 crores

Total – Rs. 77.75 crores

The regional breakdown for the two days box office collections of Varisu in India is as follows:

Tamil Nadu – Rs. 50 crores
Karnataka – Rs. 8.75 crores
Kerala – Rs. 9 crores
AP/TS – Rs. 5.50 crores
Rest of India – Rs. 4.50 crores

Total – Rs. 77.75 crores
