Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy star in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which also has Shah Rukh Khan in a brief cameo. The movie broke records on its opening day by being the greatest non-holiday day 1 grosser for a Bollywood film in nett terms. The movie gained a respectable 15% on Saturday and another 5% on Sunday, securing a box office weekend easily above Rs. 100 Cr nett. These figures were released in the wake of the pandemic, a time when it was difficult to find audiences for new Hindi films.

The movie maintained strong on its first Monday with an all language total of Rs. 16.25 cr nett after an impressive weekend figure of Rs. 119 cr nett all languages. Despite starting at high levels on a Friday that was a partial holiday in some of the participating circuits, the movie did well. It saw a dramatic decline on Tuesday of almost 15%, which confounded some forecasts. The figures obtained are still highly reliable and do not decrease. Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva raked in Rs. 12.5 – 13 cr in all languages on Tuesday and the trend on the second weekend will ensure whether it can breach Rs. 250 cr Hindi and Rs. 450 cr gross or not.

The United States is the main contributor to the international collection, which has now exceeded the five million dollar threshold there. After Master and RRR, Brahmastra is the only other Indian movie to have ever won the weekend box office worldwide.

Have a look at the day-wise all India nett collections of Brahmastra:

  • Day 1 – Rs. 35.5 cr
  • Day 2 – Rs. 41 cr
  • Day 3 – Rs. 42.5 cr
  • Day 4 – Rs. 16 cr
  • Day 5 – Rs. 12.75 cr
  • Total – Rs. 147.75 crores (Hindi: Rs. 130.25 crores, South dub: Rs. 17.5 crores)

The movie’s collection of Rs. 147.75 cr nett five-day total is impressive, and it will be interesting to see how much it expands over the course of its second weekend because that will provide a preview of where it will go during its whole run.
